Cell Leader

Summary

The Cell Leader oversees and coordinates the activities of his/her cell to help ensure production targets. This includes assisting with all material supply and any other operational areas as needed, as well as performing their regularly assigned job duties to company expectations. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Lead and direct the work of others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Assure compliance with quality standards throughout all production operations.

Consult with Quality Department regarding accept or reject decisions.

Enforces quality expectations and monitors delegated activities.

Read technical drawings and work instructions.

Design and develop programs.

Set-up, check programs and operates automatic numerically controlled machine tools and/or CNC machining equipment and finish requirements.

Understand program format, work from operational data defining and coding tooling, fixturing, and machine arrangements.

Recommend tooling applications and operational sequence to assist in developing practical programming for new and unusual machining requirements.

Set-up for and instruct Machine Operators of less experience and help diagnose.

Train, coordinate, motivate and develop the production of co-workers.

Report on cell production performance and drive continuous improvement processes/activities.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Instruct and monitor co-workers regarding work practices and conformance with company policies and procedures.

Assist in conducting timely employee performance evaluations.

Responsible for establishing shift production schedules.

Follow-up on all paperwork as required; Job Traveler, VISTA, etc.

Qualifications

Basic or Strong reading, writing and math skills.

Knowledge or Strong knowledge of technical GD&T drawing reading skills.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds intermittently.

Ability to stand 100% of work day; occasionally bend or twist.
